21st October: Savernake Photoshoot – Autumn Colours & Fungi

We are holding a club photoshoot at Savernake Forest to get images of the autumn colours and fungi. We will meet up at the Postern Hill car park on the A346 from Marlborough to Burbage at 10am on Saturday 21st October.

Car sharing can be arranged, just contact one of the committee members, or ask at one of the club meetings. Don’t worry if you can’t make this outing there is another one planned for Sunday 29th October.

Meeting 12th October: An Illustrated History of Trowbridge by David Birks

This Thursday the presentation will be “An Illustrated History of Trowbridge” by David Birks from Trowbridge Museum. This will be a welcome return to local historian David, who give us an updated version of his presentation.


Submissions due for the Open Print Competition on Thursday, so please bring your mounted prints along with you.

New members are welcome to come long to the presentation. We normally allow a couple of free taster sessions. We meet at St Thomas’s church hall at 7:30 (see map).

Meeting 28th September: DPI Competition – Open category

This Thursday is our first digital competition of the season (Open category). Our judge is Douglas Lodge from Crossbow Camera Club. Douglas has an eclectic approach to photography and enjoys trying to capture interesting and memorable shots wherever and whatever he is doing. He is a member of RPS Landscape Group, running one of their print portfolio groups, co-leader of a local U3A Photography Group and volunteer photographer at the National Arboretum, Westonbirt. Here are the winning images from the DPI open competition last year.

Meeting 21st September: “My Photographic Journey” by Derwood Pamphilon

This Thursday Derwood Pamphilon ARPS from Bristol Photographic Society presents “My Photographic Journey”, during which he will show us his images including Dance, Art Nude and Urbex photography.

Meeting 14th September – Technical workshop

Club Chairman Kevin Crosbie presents a technical workshop on DSLRs and the various features, settings etc. New members may find this useful and it will serve as a reminder for some of the regular members.

Reminder: The 14th September is also the deadline for the first DPI Competition of the season – the category is Open.

Meeting 27th April: Grand prize giving and review of Bath night photoshoot images

For our last meeting of the season we will will be reviewing the images taken by members that attended the recent Bath night photoshoot and presenting the various competition trophies and plaques.


Send your images of the photoshoot to chairman@trowbridgecc.co.uk to share with members on the night.

To make it a bit more of a social evening we will be having some nibbles and soft drinks, so please feel free to bring something along on the night.

Meeting 20th April: DPI Competition – Cityscape

This Thursday is our last competition of the season and is a DPI competition with the subject of Cityscape. Our judge for the night is Steve Hallam LRPS. Steve is a member of Hanham & Kingswood Photo Club.
