Author of 17 books, Tony Worobiec studied fine art at The University of Newcastle upon Tyne and spent 18 years as head of a large design faculty in Dorset. He has won awards for photography in the UK and internationally, and has had work exhibited in London’s Barbican Gallery, Bradford’s National Museum of Photography, The Menier Gallery London and The Fox Talbot Museum Lacock.

At very short notice we have secured a very worthy alternative. Pete Bartlett ARPS. will present his talk “The Way We Were” which charts his journey with Street and Urban Photography.

If you own a smartphone, then you own a camera, and if you own a camera, you have the tools to create stunning images and video content. Smartphone photography has gained greater kudos over the last few years, mainly due to the fact that the camera capabilities on phones can now rival DSLRs.

Professionally a forensic pathologist, but in his soul a punk rocker who loves skateboarding, his wacky selfies, using a fish eye lens, reflected his unique take on the world. His presentation had us laughing out loud at his wonderfully humorous images complete with imaginative titles and added text.

The talk will cover all aspects of two formal studio-based shoots from the planning, the shooting, the post-processing and sharing of the resulting images. He will talk about the technical aspects of the shoot but will emphasize the importance of collaboration between photographer and subject. There is also a selection of additional non-studio images to view.
10th March Spike & Penny PiddockA Wet Night InPenny and Spike Piddock. (both DPAGB & EFIAP) are members of Dorchester Camera club and also the British Society of Underwater Photographers. The Talk covers Underwater Life in a variety of places near and far, featuring curiosities as well as the more familiar species.
17th March Andy GarhnamStorm ChaserAs a child, Andrew was scared of storms, hiding under the bed covers at night when one passed by. As an adult this fear changed into fascination of all weather types. This resulted in undertaking multiple trips to the US to join others chasing storms across the mid-west. This talk aims to set the scene about what it is like to chase storms, the highs, the lows and hopes to share the incredible forms and structure rarely seen in the UK.

In this camera club talk Cat will take us on a trip through her adventures in theatre photography, including the equipment used and images from publicity shoots, rehearsals and performances.

28th April Nick MasonThe Covid ProjectNo, not the Drummer with Pink Floyd! Dr. Nick Mason, an Intensive Care Consultant in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, has won the prestigious AP 2021 Power of Photography Award.
Nick documented the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on the Intensive Care Unit, at Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, where he worked during the pandemic’s first wave. He captured poignant moments of what life was like at the time working in Intensive Care.
