4th December: Motorsports talk by Mike Harris

This Thursday we have a presentation by Mike Harris ex-Deputy Editor of N-Photo magazine on the topic of Motorsports. Mike is an expert on motorsport photography. Discover how to take stunning action and panning shots, like this one taken by Kevin Crosbie.

27th November: DPI competition no 2 – Landscapes

This Thursday is our second DPI competition of the season on the category of Landscapes. This category also includes seascapes and cityscapes.

Our judge for this competition is Peter Ottley LRPS. Peter is based in Weston-Super-Mare and has had his work exhibited in international exhibitions and salons. His images reflect his love of the West Country and wildlife.

20th November: Technical evening – Lightroom

This Thursday will be another technical evening when our very own Jeff Barber will hold another session enlightening members with more tips, tricks and techniques for Lightroom.

13th November: Portrait Photoshoot

Following Wendy’s presentation last week on Portraits, we are holding a Portraits Photoshoot this week.

Two models (one male, one female) will be available in the hall for the evening for members to practice their portrait shots. We will split into two groups, each working with one model, everyone will get their turn to ask for lighting, expressions or posing etc.

Submissions are due for our second DPI Competition on the subject of “Landscapes”. This category also includes seascapes and cityscapes.

6th November: Portraits talk by Wendy Evans

Aside from being your Programme Secretary this year, Wendy Evans is also the Technique Editor for Digital Camera magazine. This Thursday Wendy will give a presentation on Portraits, covering focal lengths, common mistakes, portrait lengths, lighting and posing.

30th October: Print competition – Open

This Thursday is our first print competition of the season, the category being Open i.e. any subject, any genre.

Our judge for this competition is Martin Cooper LRPS. This will be a welcome return to landscape specialist Martin, who inspired us last season with his Landscape images.

16th October: Drone photography talk by Adam Juniper

This Thursday we will be having a Drone Photography talk, presented by Adam Juniper.

Adam is the Managing Editor of the Digital Camera World website and he knows everything about drones and using them for photography.

9th October: Members’ evening – “it’s a Knockout”

This Thursday is another members’ evening where we will be holding a knock-out print competition, but we are the judges. Members can bring up to two mounted prints from your archive or something new – one colour, one mono or both the same. A series of Knock out rounds to decide the ultimate winner!

2nd October: DPI competition – “Open”

This Thursday will be our first DPI competition of the season on an Open topic i.e. any subject, any genre.

Our Judge, Lee Spencer-Fleet BA (Hons), Photoshop ACE, FAETC, works from her Bristol home studio and has taught Digital Photography & Photo Editing for many years. She’s been involved in courses and talks on the camera club circuit and is competent in sharing creative & technical knowledge. A friendly, self-starting novice judge with an eye for detail.

25th September: Members evening – My favourite photographer.

This Thursday is a members evening entitled “My favourite photographer”. Members can bring DPI images, prints, or even a book by their favourite photographer and explain why they mean something to them.

DPI images can either be brought on memory stick or emailed to Rob Dyer (webm@trowbridgecc.co.uk).
