9th October: Members’ evening – “it’s a Knockout”

This Thursday is another members’ evening where we will be holding a knock-out print competition, but we are the judges. Members can bring up to two mounted prints from your archive or something new – one colour, one mono or both the same. A series of Knock out rounds to decide the ultimate winner!

Non-members are always welcome and can come along for up to 3 meetings before joining. All we ask is that you pay the £2 entrance fee for those 3 evenings. We meet at St Thomas church hall at 7:30pm (see map).

2nd October: DPI competition – “Open”

This Thursday will be our first DPI competition of the season on an Open topic i.e. any subject, any genre.

Our Judge, Lee Spencer-Fleet BA (Hons), Photoshop ACE, FAETC, works from her Bristol home studio and has taught Digital Photography & Photo Editing for many years. She’s been involved in courses and talks on the camera club circuit and is competent in sharing creative & technical knowledge. A friendly, self-starting novice judge with an eye for detail.

As a taster, here are the top scoring images from the opening DPI competition last year.

25th September: Members evening – My favourite photographer.

This Thursday is a members evening entitled “My favourite photographer”. Members can bring DPI images, prints, or even a book by their favourite photographer and explain why they mean something to them.

DPI images can either be brought on memory stick or emailed to Rob Dyer (webm@trowbridgecc.co.uk).

Graham Baldwin RIP

It is with much sadness that we have to report that Graham Baldwin passed away on Friday 5th September. Graham was the Club Treasurer for many years and members will fondly remember him attending club meetings clutching his biscuit tin of petty cash and getting signatures for the tea & biscuit money.

The date of his funeral has not yet been confirmed, but we will pass on the information as soon as we find out.

September 18th: Technical Evening by Kevin Crosbie – Photography Basics

This Thursday Kevin Crosbie will give a talk on Photography Basics which is a guide to using your camera, particularly getting off ‘Auto’. There will be something for everyone, even some good reminders for experienced photographers.

11th September: Astrophotography talk by Josh Dury

Celebrity astrophotographer Josh Dury, will be showing his amazing images and explaining all about astrophotography.

Here we go again!

The Trowbridge Camera Club 2025/26 Season starts this week on Thursday 4th September. We start with a welcome meeting in the usual venue St Thomas’s Church Hall 7:30-9:30pm. The hall will be open from 7pm.

Subs are due and remain the same as last year, £60 and £2 cash at the door on any night you attend.

Coinage is much appreciated although not the contents of your piggy bank.

Wendy our new programme secretary will give a short presentation on the exciting new programme for this season.

Please bring along a selection of images from your summer activities to be shown on the night – DPI only as the print stand is currently displaying mounted images in the empty shop in the high street to promote the club.
