Trowbridge Camera Club have now officially moved. From 1st October onwards we will be holding our meetings at Southwick Village Hall, Frome Rd, Southwick, Trowbridge BA14 9QN (see map)

We hope that this will perhaps attract new members from the area and that all of our existing members will remain with us.

If any of the existing members will have difficulty getting to meetings due to not driving, please contact one of the committee members and we can arrange lifts with members nearby.

Peter is a well-known exponent of street photography from Swindon. This Thursday we have a presentation by our Programme Secretary Kevin Crosbie entitled “An introduction to digital photography”. The talk is aimed at new starters and the less experienced, as well as the old hands.

You don’t need to have an expensive mirrorless camera and a myriad of lenses, excellent images can be captured with almost anything with a camera on it – mobile phone, compact camera, rugged camera, Go-Pro, drone, old SLR film or DSLR.

Here we go again! This Thursday will be our first meeting of the 2026/27 season. A chance to greet new members, and for existing members to catch up on what they’ve been up to over the summer. We will preview the programme for the season and the competition subjects.

Membership submissions are due – this year the price remains at £60 and £2 on the door for meetings attended.

This Thursday will be our last meeting of this season and will be our Grand Prize Giving. As another club year draws to a close, it is time to reflect and think about what went well and what didn’t, and also content for the programme next year.

We will be having a fish and chip supper at the half-time break, so if you haven’t order yours already contact George or Jill ASAP.

We are looking to arrange some events through the off-season period, with trips to a bird of prey centre, and a Castle Combe track day.

This Thursday is our last competition of the season which will be a DPI Competition on the subject of Wildlife and Nature.

Our judge for this competition will Beryl Heaton ARPS, EFIAP/b , CPAGB. Beryl is a member of Bristol Photographic Society.

This Thursday we will have a presentation by Steve Davey on Travel Photography. On his travels, Steve has photographed a wide range of subjects including wildlife, landscapes, architecture, cities, food and culture. He is especially experienced at photographing people and festivals. The presentation will cover travel photography in it’s widest sense, including how to approach the subject as well as techniques and gear.

This Thursday will be another members’ evening, showing images from the club’s recent outing to the Fleet Air Arm museum. Members can bring along DPI or print images from the day out or create an AV if they wish.

Submissions are due for the Wildlife and Nature DPI competition.

This will be an all colour competition. You may submit up to 4 colour images, monochrome entries will be accepted as part of the 4 images, but they will be judged in the same competition against colour entries.

There will be no meeting this Thursday (2nd April) as it is Maundy Thursday and the Easter break.

We will resume again on 9th April with a Members’ evening, showing images from the club outing to the Fleet Air Arm museum.
